Community interpreting
Community Interpreting enables people who are not fluent speakers of the official language(s) of the country to communicate with the providers of public services so as to facilitate full and equal access to legal, health, education, government, and social services.
In the last 10 years, Translation.ie has been providing Community Interpreting Services to various Irish governmental institutions including:
- An Garda Sνochαna
- Health Executive Service (HSE)
- Hospitals
- Irish Probation Services
- Refugee Legal Service
- Irish Courts Service
- Department of Justice and Equality
- Team for Separated Children Seeking Asylum
- Enable Ireland
- National Parents Council
- Garda National Immigration Bureau
- And the list goes on
Our community interpreters will be responsible for enabling the professional and the client, with very different backgrounds and perceptions and in an unequal relationship of power and knowledge, to communicate to their mutual satisfaction.
