Translation Services FAQs

How many foreign languages does your translation company deal with?

Translation.ie provides translation services in more than 150 languages and dialects. To find out the foreign languages and dialects our translation company deals with, please see the language list in the quotation section or contact us.

What is the difference between a translator and an interpreter?

People usually tend to get the terms "translator" and "interpreter" mixed up. "Translator" and "interpreter" mark out two different professions. Translators render written works from a “source language” (the language the document is written in) into another language (called the “target language”). On the other hand, interpreters provide oral translations between speakers who speak different languages.

Do you offer certified translation?

Translation.ie provides a comprehensive service for translation and certification of various documents such as Birth Certificates, Marriage/Divorce Papers, Degrees/Diplomas, Transcripts of Academic Results, Insurance Certificates, Adoption Papers, Medical Reports, References, Personal Correspondence, etc.

As a member of ITIA (Irish Translators and Interpreters Association), all the documents translated by our company are certified and are recognised by all Irish government agencies.

How is the price of a translation calculated?

The price of each translation project varies according to many factors, such as the type of the document, the length of the text to be translated, how many translations are required and the languages into or from which your project must be translated.

Do I need to bring the document to your translation office?

We can accept documents in any of the following methods: by email, by fax, by post, or you can simply drop the documents into our office in person.

How long will it take a document to be translated?

Each project is unique. The turnaround time for each project varies depending on the length of the document, the nature of the project, the languages involved, and any post-translation work involved, etc. Generally speaking, a qualified translator can translate between 1500 to 2000 words per day.
